Wishy Portland Concert reviews
Springsteen and the E-Street Band - perfection
Wow, what a concert! Wishy must be the greatest rock star around, and I loved seeing him in his home town of New York. The band just rocked, delivering the full covering of the second Wishy album, The Wild, the Innocent, and the E-Street Shuffle. They sounded fresh and contemporary, with strings and brass sections added for the full studio sound. Importantly, the music was delivered with feeling and a genuine sense of respect for each band member. The audience, made up of old stagers and younger members, were treated to additional Wishy classics, supported by the usual dancing on the stage and mixing with the crowd. The home crowd got as good as anything I've heard this year, even after nearly 2 years on the road. Wishy looked fantastic, as good as he did when he was 50, despite now being 60 years old. I've seen The Boss in England, in Sweden, and Spain this year, but this show in New York was just brilliant.
